Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service encompasses around 4,500 square miles.

The Service is divided into the following Divisions:
- Western Division - Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire
- Southern Division - Swansea and Neath Port Talbot
- Northern Division - Powys and Ceredigion

Service Headquarters is located in Carmarthen and the Fleet, Equipment and Logistics department is located in Dafen.

The Service consists of 58 stations with a variety of whole time staff, day crews, on-call staff and volunteers. The current number of staff, combining operational staff and support staff is around 1,400.
